Biography of Professor Dr. Ibrahim El Bayoumy
Professor Dr. Ibrahim El- Bayoumy received his bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery from the Tanta Faculty of Medicine in Egypt in 1989. He later went on to earn his master’s degree in public health, preventive, and social medicine there in 1996, and his MD, PhD in public health, preventive, and social medicine from the Tanta Faculty of Medicine in Egypt and the McGill Faculty of Medicine in Montreal, Canada, in 2003. Since November 2016, he has served as a full professor of community medicine and public health at the Tanta Faculty of Medicine in Egypt. He is currently employed as a public health and preventive medicine consultant for the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health.
Dr. El Bayoumy has published numerous research articles in peer-reviewed international journals. He is particularly interested in pharmacoepidemiology and the epidemiology of chronic diseases like diabetes mellitus as well as infectious diseases like HIV, tuberculosis, brucellosis, and infectious hepatitis. He reviews publications for numerous national and international magazines. His interest in kid obesity led him to write a chapter on the topic for a book that was published by Nova publishers in the United States. In October 2015, he graduated with a post-graduate Master’s degree in diabetes care and education from the Dundee Faculty of Medicine in Scotland.
