Mary Fisher is an FNP and clinical specialist in Psychiatry. She has been a member of the Nursing
profession for over 30 years. She is a graduate of Radford University with a Bachelor of Science in
Nursing. She holds a Master’s in Nursing from the University of Virginia. She holds a doctorate in In
Nursing Science and Juris Doctorate from the Breyer State University. She has experience in both
inpatient and outpatient psychiatry. She manages the care for patients across the life span. She has a
specialty in child adolescent as well psychiatric needs of the medically complex. She also has an interest
in program and system development and Nursing education. She also holds an appointment as faculty
at the University of Virgina. She is the President of The Nurse Practitioner Association of the
Washington Dc area where she enjoys advocating for access to care for patients. She is also a guest
lecturer on legal issues in health care and psychiatric crisis care. She is a member of American Nurses
Associations and its Virginia Council as well as the Consortium on graduate education.
